| THE BARN RESTORATION AND THE PROBLEM STOPPING US. We where having a 107 year old barn being restored. The roof fell in 2008 and everyone told us to tear it down, we couldn't see it happing. We wanted to save part of our history. We thought we where blessed to find Randy Mouw of Barn Cats he agreed to do the job in 3 months, we gave him $12,000 to start the job and agree to pay him payments during the restoration and after completion. All I have to say is I wouldn't hire Randy Mouw was dishonest with us. 10,09 not much has changed Randy Mouw has NOT stood by his word and has be come not such a The project started 6-15-09 and was supposed to be finished in three months it is now November nice person to talked to. He had agreed for us make payments to him for this job monthly after the barn completion, it now has become you pay me this much and I'll do this much work. It is sad but he is dishonest, he just flat out lied to us. He lied to get the job and now holding the barn finishing date on how much we can pay him. Sad to see this, but it has been a learning lesson for us. We actually tried to help him get jobs at first, not now. I would just warn you never give someone money until the job is completed. Last promise was the Barn roof was supposed to be completed on November 30, 2009 it did not happen. Randy Mouw has not had adequate material to do the job, adequate equipment to do the job and hasn't had adequate hired help for this job. After giving this man $22,720 we decided it better to let him go from this job and take the lost than to continue with someone who we neither trust and now believe doesn't have the skills to do a restoration for this barn. We are keeping the faith and trying to remember everything happens for a reason. We are going try continue with this project and find someone who is honest and can do a restoration, not a bandage job. We officially sent a letter to Randy Mouw of Barn Cats go on December 9, 09 to remove him from this job. We hadn't seen man since November 18, 2009 and he actually had the nerve to call me on December 7, 09 and want me to send him more money, I really had laugh at that one. His large crew of two guys worked a day and half in November and nothing since and he actually wants money from us? It is really sad when someone can take that much money from someone and wake up and call them self a man. BEWARE OF RANDY MOUW owner of BARN CATS of ROCKFORD, MI We recently had another company to come out to give us a price and he said the beams down stairs are not even secure so lucky the roof didn't go up, it wouldn't last very long. Randy was just doing a bandage job. Those beams actually need to be replaced. 12-09-09 we sent Randy Mouw a letter removing him from the job, giving him 10 days to remove his equipment, with storage fees. On 12-22-09 he showed with a court order to get his equipment 11 days after the letter. As of 12-22-09 Randy Mouw has filled a law suite against us for the remaining money owed for the job, stress and loss of work,( because he needed his broken down equipment for other jobs). He couldn't get his Lull and Fire truck out that night, but yet took another 8 days before showing up again 12-30-09 to remove the equipment, which now sits at Norm Schneider in North Branch as of 01-01-10 broken down needing repaired. While his guys were here removing equipment on 12-30-09 one of his guys was arrested for out standing warrants. We have filled a counter suite against this Randy Mouw for the barn completion, the young beef cattle that we had to sell for lack of proper shelter for the younger cattle, loss income. This barn completion was part of the growth for this farm. As I have kept all of our members up dated from day one starting this job, Randy Mouw says he never gave us a completion date. All of our members know there was a completion date and it got extend twice. This barn was the future for the growth of this co-op, to have a store here on the farm for our members and the public. We neither got a barn or any quality work. The two workers that Randy Mouw had working here we thought was just clean up crew, one worked for him for a year the other just started when Randy Mouw took this job. How are they qualify to do a barn restoration on a 107 year old barn. Randy Mouw never did any actual work on this barn. We have hired Raymond N. Mashni out of Lapeer County to represent us. We also have another barn restoration giving us a detailed proposal and detailed reason why he has re-do this bandage job Randy Mouw of Barn Cats has done. The barn basement beams are not even secured, yet Randy Mouw was going put a roof on it. We hired Randy Mouw on trusting his word and got taken for $22, 720 and now in a law suite with this man. BEWARE, we learned a hard lesson. Thank you to all our members for your support and all the other e-mails I receive from strangers supporting us, THANK YOU!
